Bug-A-Salt Killer Hardware – Yes it WOULD Hurt a Fly – Frogs Love It

Flying, buzzing insects hate it, but frogs and birds love to have the results for breakfast, lunch, and supper. Shaped like a pump-action pistol-grip firearm, the bright yellow, plastic Bug-A-Salt gadget shoots a small pinch of everyday table-salt as tiny shotgun-style projectiles.

The effective distance is about five feet, and it works quite well within that range. That little bugger (uh, sorry about that) does not require batteries, a license, or substantial shooting skills; and there are no limits on how many critters you can take down with it.

Even though the low velocity of the salt will not penetrate human skin, it is definitely not safe to shoot toward anyone's eyes, or pets and other animals. Interestingly this fly killer has two safety features that exceed those found on real firearms. It does in fact have a safety button that must be released before firing, and the safety engages automatically between every shot, every time the gadget is cocked with the sliding pump-action grip, and must be released each time before firing. Also, the rear sight pops up to indicate the gadget has been cocked. The Skell video will help explain.

The Bug-A-Salt holds enough table-salt to annihilate about 50 insects before reloading. The salt velocity is intentionally low enough so that insects do not splatter, and are left whole but conveniently dead.

The inventor and founder of Skell Inc., Lorenzo Maggiore, has already made trips to China, and units can be pre-ordered now.
