Dell Wyse Creates Project Ophelia Android Powered Cloud-Stick

project-ophelia4What's slightly larger than a USB memory stick, runs on the Android 4 OS, has no batteries, connects users securely to personal or business cloud data, does not require a tablet, laptop, or smartphone, and will make you Wyse? The answer is not a precursor to a punchline.

It is of course Dell Inc.'s Project Ophelia which enables secure cloud access to content using Dell Wyse software on a multi-media capable device that is self-powered through a monitor. The Ophelia device is somehow reminiscent of the FXI Cotton Candy PC-on-a-Stick, and the Chinese MK802. Dell sees this device playing a role for professionals traveling without access to a laptop or tablet; or as a backup if mobile devices fail or are misplaced while traveling.

Ophelia supports social networking, web browsing, Android applications, and media playback while retaining settings for multiple users.
