  • 1 x small plastic scribe

Installation and Removal Instructions
Dell Inspiron 15R (5520 / 7520) LCD Cable

Slide the latches over and lift the battery out.

Step 1

  • Slide the latches over and lift the battery out.
Loosen the screws and remove the access door (cannot be removed).

Step 2

  • Loosen the screws and remove the access door (cannot be removed).
Remove the optical drive screw (1 x M2.5 x 5mm).

Step 3

  • Remove the optical drive screw (1 x M2.5 x 5mm).
  • Slide the optical drive out of the laptop.

Remove the hard drive screws (4 x M2.5 x 5mm).

Step 4

  • Remove the hard drive screws (4 x M2.5 x 5mm).
  • Using the tab, slide the hard drive out of the laptop.

Remove screws under battery (4 x M2x2.5mm).

Step 5

  • Remove screws under battery (4 x M2x2.5mm).
  • Remove the screws on bottom base (5 x M2.5x6mm).
  • Remove the screws under the DVD optical drive (2 x M2 x 3mm).

Turn the laptop over and open it up.

Step 6

  • Turn the laptop over and open it up.
  • Using a small flathead screwdriver, press in the 4 keyboard latches and lift the keyboard up.
  • Unplug the keyboard cable.

Remove the top palmrest screws (6 x M2.5 x 5mm).

Step 7

  • Remove the top palmrest screws (6 x M2.5 x 5mm).
  • Unplug the 3 palmrest cables.

Using a scribe or a flathead screwdriver, separate the palmrest from the laptop base.

Step 8

  • Using a scribe or a flathead screwdriver, separate the palmrest from the laptop base.
  • Unplug the cable under the palmrest.

Unplug and loosen the wireless antenna cables.

Step 9

  • Unplug and loosen the wireless antenna cables.
  • Unplug and loosen the display cable.

Remove the left hinge screws (3 x M2.5 x 5mm).

Step 10

  • Remove the left hinge screws (3 x M2.5 x 5mm).
  • Remove the right hinge screws (2 x M2.5 x 5mm).
  • Remove the display assembly.

Lift under the edge of the bezel and unsnap it.

Step 11

  • Lift under the edge of the bezel and unsnap it.
  • Work your way around the entire screen.
  • Lift the bezel away from the display.

Loosen the tape on the camera and screen.

Step 12

  • Loosen the tape on the camera and screen.
  • Remove the camera screw (1 x M2 x 3mm).

Unplug the camera cable.

Step 13

  • Unplug the camera cable.
  • Remove the camera.
Remove the LCD screen screws (8 x M2.5 x 5mm).

Step 14

  • Remove the LCD screen screws (8 x M2.5 x 5mm).
  • Lift the screen out of the back lid and turn it over.

Unplug the LCD cable.

Step 15

  • Unplug the LCD cable.
