The Galaxy Note 3 comes out Sept 25 in more than 140 countries. US wireless carriers will include Verizon, Sprint, T Mobile and AT&T and in two flavors: 32 and 64 GB options. You can have two apps open at the same time, in two windows as you would on your computer. Multitasking is a plus for the Note 3. S pen is for Action memo. I could, if I wanted to, jot down someones number using the stylus pen in what is called "Screen Write". It may look like its predecessor at first glance, but this screen is 5.7 inches, with 1920 by 1080 display. Also packed with a 2.3 GHz. Quad core processor for the LTW version and 1.9 GHZ Octa Core processor on the 3G version. It is 8.3mm thin, and 168 grams in weight and also includes NFC and Bluetooth 4.0 as well.
Samsung calls their new Galaxy Gear Smartwatch a companion device. Well yes it is, only in conjunction with galaxy devices of course. The feature list is huge, but that doesn't always mean a great thing, especially if your phone does a lot of the same things. Once synced, it makes phone calls, take pics, listen to music, look at photos, etc. It is 1.63 inch 320 by 320 display is surrounded by a metal frame, then there's a plastic band and metal clasp. It is very odd looking with a camera mounted on the side of the strap, shoots only 10 second videos and only capable of 1.9 MP shots.
Microsoft News: Number one, no Illumiroom? Remember back in January when Microsoft showed off that radical gaming concept where your Kinect would essentially project your gaming experience all over your living room? Its no longer going to happen due to high set up costs. The Xbox One release is official: November 22nd, 499.99 is still the amount to cough up but since Microsoft decided to alter a lot of what we didn't like about the console, I think it could still make some great sales. In addition to the release date, Xbox One's CPU processing power will be increased to 1.75 GHz, 10 percent increase from original specs!!! Finally, just in case you haven't heard, the ONE will support 8 controllers!
On Tuesday, Microsoft announced their bold move to up their ante by bidding a 7 billion dollar deal with Nokia's smartphone market. Due to a very drastic drop in the Finnish company sales, a mere 15 percent share over all with just 3 percent in the smartphone market- something had to give. So now, fallen in to the gigantic arms of software MASTER Microsoft, Nokia states they are now willing to settle into a concentrated networking equipment sector, business and tech patents will be their focus. Nokia CEO Stephen Elop has long been hacking costs out of Nokia since their relationship with Windows OS began in 2011. Although not expected to be fully profitable until 2016, for the first time ever, Microsoft will have control over both the smartphone hardware and software teams, meaning they will be paralleling the powers that be Apple and Android. SO let the competition begin.
