Installation and Removal Instructions
Dell Inspiron 14z (N411z) Cooling Fan

Remove the battery.

Step 1

  • Slide the latches over.
  • Remove the battery.
Remove the battery.Slide the latches over.
Remove the access door.

Step 2

  • Loosen the access door screw.
  • Remove the access door.

Slide the optical drive out of the laptop.

Step 3

  • Remove the optical drive screw.
  • Slide the optical drive out of the laptop.
Slide the optical drive out of the laptop.Remove the optical drive screw.
Remove the bottom palmrest screws.

Step 4

  • Remove the bottom palmrest screws.
Turn the keyboard over and unplug the keyboard cable.

Step 5

  • Press in the 4 keyboard latches and lift the keyboard up.
  • Turn the keyboard over and unplug the keyboard cable.
Turn the keyboard over and unplug the keyboard cable.Press in the 4 keyboard latches and lift the keyboard up.
Remove the top palmrest screws.

Step 6

  • Remove the top palmrest screws.
List and unsnap the palmrest from the laptop.

Step 7

  • Unplug the palmrest cables.
  • List and unsnap the palmrest from the laptop.
List and unsnap the palmrest from the laptop.Unplug the palmrest cables.
Remove the screw.

Step 8

  • Unplug the fan cable.
  • Remove the screw.
  • Remove the fan.
Remove the screw.Remove the fan.Unplug the fan cable.
