Its a holiday, which means the interwebs are flooding with 2013 did this and 2014 should do that. Did you know that all in all, this year was an embarrassment for the entire tech industry? Does this mean anything to you? Well it hit close to home where the home of tech actually lives, Silicon Valley. What they call a disappointment and a failure, is surrounded by the notion that not a single break though product was unveiled.

This year I presented about hundreds of amazing tech innovations, gadgets and inventions...yet all unrecognized as innovative? My question is, what do we have to create in a year for the tech industry GODS to be impressed? Apparently every tech company you can think of needs to change their game.

Starting with mobile phones, they stagnated, sucked, etc. I will agree with the iPhone release not being much to brag about. They were less than distinguishable from the last generation. If their aim was to make the best selling smart phone more like a computer, they didn’t do it. Samsung is another complaint. They continued their lines of quote “unpleasant cheap design”. Wow. They were packed with new features like touch free gesture control, and were overall beautiful and powerful pieces of machinery. But remember, they still suck! (Not my opinions).

Onto wearables. Considering smart wearables are a particular niche not every consumer is going to want, I think calling this category a dud is unfair. Google glass is a quote tone deaf design, something to be ashamed to wear in public. Not just that but all the sneaky features make people uncomfortable, so they are already banned in many public places. Even if they are kinda strange, cant you just admit Google Glass is one kinda classy and impressive invention by Google?

Smart watches, are being called the biggest let down. I am actually not surprised by this one. If you want something to tell you how many miles you ran that's okay, but using it for something like this, is just dumb. We have phones and cameras for that.

Who gets beat up next? Microsoft. After they built the Surface RT tablet, they lost nearly a billion dollars, so they’re declared “losers”. They are advised to break up the company because they lack sensibility. Onto Blackberry. Investors once thought you would be smart and break yourself into smaller businesses. But no. You proved to be a total loss, plus, nobody buys your phones anymore.

Also, Microsoft bought Nokia, remember that? Big deal. Unfortunately, this would've been astonishing if it happened a few years ago, but today felt like a lurch into an unsure future. Apple, again delivered nothing new, and Google killed 20 percent of its time leading up to a furious and public debate among its employees regarding their groundbreaking ability. Don’t waste time training your employees, gigantic company that runs the world. All we want is product.

Social media. We hate it, basically. We became more tired of it than ever. Facebook is boring and flooded with stupid memes, determines what shows up in your feed. It is also known to make people feel bad about themselves, but at the same time also makes people feel good about themselves. Facebook is continuing to decline in general.

Finally, the NSA spying scandal came out in the open. Now, in my opinion how could this not be the single most important issue that came to light of this year? Snowden the great leaked scandalous papers displaying why we should never trust both tech companies and governments. Really, the only ones who were surprised by that were the young or naïve. It taught some to be scared of cloud. Also, be afraid of your Xbox Kinect sensor, as well as Gmail.

I end with my description of what the tech Gods would expect from these companies in order for them to succeed. Some ideas are ridiculous, some require them to shut down all together. What an interesting view on 2013. I sure wasn't expecting it to be so harsh.
