Happy Friday and happy Chromecast winner announcement day! I am also going to go through some of the questions and comments you guys left me last week. I will also be including a small What The Tech Segment, as well as bringing back your favorite surprise endings!
As you know, in my last episode, I announced that we were giving away a Google Chromecast. Congratulations to the winner, Flynn's Video Arcade, and thank you for your YouTube comment!
Next, in honor of my appreciation towards you all, I wanted to read some of my favorite comments from last week. Gljay says: “ Those little snide comments you make are part of who you are. It helps show ou believe are care about your show. People can read it if you fake it. You do not, which is why we like your show. Keep it up. And more more more cats!”
From DustyinOklahoma: “Great episode, as usual, at the end of each one I always wished it was longer. Bring back the cat videos. Thanks!”
Okay. Cats are coming back. I get it, you guys!
Finally, David Connelly said “I look forward to hearing about how Xbox Live crashed in the next episode. It was related to Titanfall's release. But there was no problems with the game itself.” Yeah you better believe there wasn't. Not in my household, as it is in constant Titanfall mode since the bundle came.
However, there was an Xbox Live issue during the Titanfall/Xbox One bundle launch. Some user's screens said “Core services for your Xbox Live on the Xbox One are currently limited”. People couldn’t sign in. Apparently it went on for six or so hours. It was determined to be unrelated to Titanfall. You know, I think some people might have different internet connections than others. Things get clogged up. This particular sign in issue could be resolved with a simple cold reboot of the console, says Microsoft.
Onto gadgets. The most expensive suit in the world, roughly 3.2 million, has been designed by company Suitart, called Diamond Armor. The Diamond Armor suit is encrusted with gems, repels bullets and stains, and has on-board air conditioning.
For SXSW this week, Neil young was here in Austin and announced his crowd funding project on Kickstarter, the Pono digital music player. Pono is gonna kill the MP3, with good reasoning behind it. If anyone believes in the important of good audio quality, as well as connection between the fan, the listener and the musician, its freakin Neil young. The PonoPlayer is built to play super high quality digital files. Because the device holds 6 to 30 times as much information as a typical MP3, the audio is supposed to be like listening to the artist in a room with you. This particular campaign is so incredibly crafted, it made 2 million dollars in 24 hours. Its still making about 700 dollars a minute, the fastest to 7 figures Kickstarter has ever seen.
Surgeon Simulator is now available on iPad! For $5.99, you can perform fake heart and double kidney transplants! There is also eye operations, and a dentistry mode! (This is obviously a What The Tech moment for me)
Last is robotic strippers from Tobit. They dance, they gyrate, they pole dance. German developer Tobit software showed up with these metallic booty dancers at the ceBIT computer expo in Hanover. Luckily, they can be controlled by smartphone app, and you can have one for personal use for just $39,500.
