Most of our orders are from repeat customers. Parts-People began as a small company 20 years ago in an extra bedroom of my house. I had saved a small sum of money to purchase some computer parts and began selling them on eBay. After a few months I realized that people needed a place to go for Dell parts so I began building our website. Since we are located in Austin, Texas, where Dell.com was founded, I was able to set up a solid supply line with Dell. From the start, we focused on customer satisfaction and selling quality parts. We have grown a lot since 2002 but still and always the customer will come first. You will find that we go above and beyond with every order and offer free resources and support before and after the sale.

I used to love visiting my Grandma as kid. I mean, sure - the cookies were great, trips to Toys-R-US that would have been seen as “extravagant” by my own parents were a regular occurrence, and there was absolutely no bedtime, ever. But you know what my favorite part of visiting her house was? She had The Clapper. That’s right kids, with nothing more than the power contained in my own two hands, I could control light and dark. It was magical. LG has spoken right to that little nerd with its first-ever smart bulb, which is packed full of features to make setting the mood, keeping your home safe and throwing an unforgettable party a snap.
Smart and wireless lighting is certainly not new technology; household giant Phillips already has a smart bulb of its own and a company called LIFX launched a Wi-Fi enabled LED bulb last year that can be controlled from your smartphone. The Smart Lamp from LG is so much more though. As you’ve probably already guessed, the bulb can be controlled using Bluetooth or Wi-Fi and is compatible with both Android and iOS-based smartphones. Once the bulb is screwed in, simply download a companion app to control your lights from your mobile device no matter how far from home you are. Want to set the mood without leaving the couch? A few taps to the screen will accomplish your desired ambiance. You can even feel safer on late nights out or on long vacations with the security mode, which sets the bulb to turn on and off at certain times when you’re not at home.
In addition to the practical functionality, LG has included some very appealing extras. For instance, once paired with your smartphone, you can set the smart bulb to blink or flicker when you have an incoming call. Perhaps the most exciting feature (at least to this vampiric loather of morningtime) is the alarm clock, which literally calls you to “rise and shine” by slowly turning the light at the time you choose. Which will be especially awesome after the ragers you’re going to throw with the smart Lamp’s party mode – a feature which adjusts the brightness of the bulb to the beat of music. Say for example you’re playing rhythm-heavy dance music with a great beat – the bulb would flash more quickly, creating a more party appropriate vibe.
The Smart Lamp is more than just smart and fun though, it is incredibly energy efficient. A recent press release from LG claimed that it could help households save more than 80 percent on energy bills, all through a bulb that has an estimated lifespan of almost a decade (at an estimated 5 hours of use a day). Given that information, it sounds like it will more than earn its $35,000 won ($32 US) price tag. Which sadly, for now, will only be available in Korea; no word on international availability has been released yet.
