E63- YouTube & Twitch, Aero-X Hoverbike, Dell Goes Green | Red Headed Geek Show

Youtube is rumored to possibly purchased Twitch, a huge site for live streaming game play video, which became popular around 2011 and raised 35 million dollars in startup funding. It is on the most popular gaming site lists, and has over 45 million monthly viewers. At its peak hours, it is busier than both Facebook and Amazon. Twitch users stream various games; anything from Xbox to Playstation can be seen on the site for learning or entertainment purposes. If the YouTube, Twitch deal happens, it will be sold to YouTube for 1 billion dollars.

In 2017, a company called Aerofex will be releasing the Aero X hoverbike. This is a half quadcopter, half motorcycle that powered by three 240 horsepower, three-rotor, rotary engines running on gasoline makes the Aero-X capable of carrying 310 lbs. It can reach speeds up to 45 mph, at an altitude of 12 feet; and with its vertical take off and landing ability (VTOL), can run for a good 85 minutes.

Im so pleased and excited to announced the news of Dell making new sustainable efforts with introducing what the company will call “industry first” carbon-negative packaging. Dell will teaming up with Newlight Technologies, who has developed a unique carbon sequestration technology. As far as sourcing the actual recycled material, Dell will be reaching out to Wistron GreenTech for plastics that have been recovered from electronics. Together, we should see new packaging on the upcoming line of Dell Latitude notebooks (possible rumor) using something called Aircarbon, which is a carbon-negative material that “sequesters more carbon than it produces to generate a net positive impact on the environment”, could save money for the company and help the earth.

Thank you for watching, and I will see everyone next week!
