Installation and Removal Instructions
Latitude E7440 LCD Display Assembly

Slide the latch over and remove the battery.

Step 1

  • Slide the latch over and remove the battery.

Remove the screws (2 x M2 x 3mm).

Step 2

  • Remove the screws (2 x M2 x 3mm).
  • Slide the access door down and remove it form the laptop.

Remove the screws (2 x M2.5 x 5mm).

Step 3

  • Remove the screws (2 x M2.5 x 5mm).
  • Remove the fan.
  • Unplug the cable.

Unplug the bottom cables.

Step 4

  • Unplug the bottom cables.
  • Remove the bottom keyboard screws (2 x M2 x 5mm).

Remove the screws (4 x M2 x 3mm).

Step 6

  • Remove the screws (4 x M2 x 3mm).
  • Remove the hinge cover.

Remove the keyboard bezel.

Step 7

  • Remove the keyboard bezel.

Remove the mouse button screws (2 x M2x2.5mm).

Step 8

  • Remove the mouse button screws (2 x M2x2.5mm).
  • Remove the mouse buttons.

Remove the keyboard screws (3 x M2 x 3mm).

Step 9

  • Remove the keyboard screws (3 x M2 x 3mm).

Unplug the palmrest cables.

Step 10

  • Unplug the palmrest cables.
  • Remove the palmrest screw (1 x M2.5 x 5mm).
  • Remove the palmrest.

Remove the display cable screw.

Step 11

  • Remove the display cable screw.
  • Remove display cable bracket.

Unplug the display cables.

Step 12

  • Unplug the display cables.
  • Unplug the DC jack cable.

Remove the hinge screws (4 x M2.5 x 5mm).

Step 13

  • Remove the hinge screws (4 x M2.5 x 5mm).
  • Remove the display assembly.
