Most of our orders are from repeat customers. Parts-People began as a small company 20 years ago in an extra bedroom of my house. I had saved a small sum of money to purchase some computer parts and began selling them on eBay. After a few months I realized that people needed a place to go for Dell parts so I began building our website. Since we are located in Austin, Texas, where Dell.com was founded, I was able to set up a solid supply line with Dell. From the start, we focused on customer satisfaction and selling quality parts. We have grown a lot since 2002 but still and always the customer will come first. You will find that we go above and beyond with every order and offer free resources and support before and after the sale.

When you consider that people spend about one-third of their lives sleeping, it stands to reason that someone would start dreaming up ways to do it smarter. While there are countless gadgets and apps currently on the market designed to track and analyze how we sleep, Sense is the first to go beyond simply tracking light and deep phases of rest. More than just a sleep sensor, the Sense is an alarm clock, an allergen detector and the new mortal enemy of those giant bags that have taken up residence under your eyes – all in a peaceful, glowing orb-shaped package.
At first glance it’s easy to see why the Sense is something you wouldn’t mind having at the side of your bed. The polycarbonate orb puts off a soft glow while you sleep and is a subtle, unlit piece of decor when you’re awake. But this serene little sleep gadget is far more than a pretty face. While you sleep, the Sense measures everything from temperature, light, motion, humidity and sound to factors like particle counts for pollen and dust in the air. While the ball rests on your nightstand, it connects wirelessly to a companion tracker called the “Sleep Pill”; a small plastic tag that clips to your pillow and tracks sleep patterns using a 6-axis accelerometer and gyroscope. The Sleep Pill syncs wirelessly using ANT+ and has a year-long battery life; plus it’s waterproof, so it should even survive the inevitable toss into the washer with your sheets. The orb can link to up to two Sleep Pills at a time, so if you happen to be a spoon connoisseur the Sense has your big or little counterpart covered too. Both gadgets send data to your iOS or Android device over Bluetooth while you sleep, and when you wake up the app displays a timeline of the prior evening showing when and why sleep disturbances occurred. There is even a microphone that listens to your room while you sleep and can actually play back the noises that woke you.
In addition to its bevy of tracking functions, the Sense is also a smart alarm that wakes you at the end of a REM cycle when you’re likely to feel more rested, as opposed to right in the middle of one which may leave you feeling groggier; even if it is 30 minutes earlier than your alarm was set to go off. This “sleep intelligence” has also made things simple though, with the incorporation of features like an LED that glows green when your room is conducive to a good night’s sleep and timeline technology that can determine the optimal temperature at which your body gets the best night’s rest.
Thanks to the ever-growing national obsession with catching a few more quality z’s, you can soon get your hands on your very own orb. After only seven hours of crowdfunding yesterday, the Sense smashed right through its $100,000 campaign goal and is still going. Backing the project through Kickstarter now will cost you only $99, and pre-orders will start at $129 and should ship in November of this year.
