Installation and Removal Instructions
Dell Latitude E7240 Bottom Base
Step 1
- Slide the latch over to unlock the battery.
- Lift the battery out of the laptop.
Step 2
- Remove the screws.
- Remove the hinge cover.
Step 3
- Remove the screws.
- Slide the access door down.
- Remove the access door.
Step 4
- Unplug the antenna cables.
- Remove the screw.
- Remove the wireless WLAN card.
Step 5
- Remove the screw.
- Remove the mSata Solid State Drive (SSD).
Step 6
- Separate the clips & remove the memory.
Step 7
- Loosen the plastic cover.
- Unplug the keyboard cable.
- Remove the bottom keyboard screws.
Step 8
- Remove the bottom palmrest screws.
- Remove the bottom hinge screws.
- Unplug the DC jack cable.
Step 9
- Unplug & loosen the antenna cables.
- Remove the bracket screw.
- Remove the bracket.
- Unplug & loosen the display cable.
Step 10
- Turn the laptop over & open it up.
- Unsnap the bezel around the keyboard.
Step 11
- Remove the top keyboard screws.
- Remove the keyboard.
Step 12
- Unplug & loosen the palmrest cables.
- Remove the top palmrest screws.
- Remove the palmrest.
Step 13
- Remove the left & right hinge screws.
- Remove the display assembly.
Step 14
- Unplug the cable.
- Remove the screw.
- Lift the circuit board & unplug the CMOS battery.
Step 15
- Remove the CMOS battery.
- Unplug the WiFi catcher cable.
Step 16
- Unplug the cable.
- Remove the screw.
- Remove the fan.
Step 17
- Turn the base over.
- Loosen the screws.
- Remove the heatsink.
Step 18
- Remove the bracket screw.
- Remove the bracket.
- Remove the DC jack.
Step 19
- Remove the motherboard screws.
- Remove the motherboard.
Step 20
- Remove the speaker screws.
- Remove the speakers.
Step 21
- The remaining piece is the bottom base.
