Memory card maker Eyefi has one primary purpose, to make our lives a little easier when it comes to transferring photos from camera to device. By connecting memory cards to Wi-Fi, Eyefi minimizes the amount of steps to see and import your images. Being automatic is the key. The company's latest family member is the Eyefi Mobi Pro with 32 gigs, already touted as “the most powerful Wi-Fi SD card ever”.

Big enough for 16,000 photos or 12 hours of video, Eyefi's new card is the first in the company's Mobi line (not new to the company) capable of handing RAW files and connecting to local Wi-Fi networks (The Verge). It's biggest feature is selective sync, which, instead of automatically syncing your all data from the card to device, Mobi Pro will let you choose which photos to sync (why was this never an option?). Looks like you do have to manually choose each photo on the actual camera, which does take some time, as each photo has to be write-protected from the camera. Mobi Pro can connect to your smartphone, tablet, PC, or Mac, then the cloud takes care of the rest. In fact, Eyefi Cloud works by maintaining your photo's original resolution, while re-rendering it to look its best on each device you choose (Venture Beat). Huge RAW files can be transferred via wireless connection (infrastructure or direct mode), meaning, if you happen to be away from any available Wi-Fi, Mobi Pro will create its very own network to instantly transfer to your smartphone or tablet (Hot Hardware).

With news of Apple and other companies choosing to get rid of their SD card slots and going for the USB Type C, good thing Eyefi has a converter that allows your to transfer your photos through a USB slot. With 32GB for $99, and and extra $49.99 for one year of access to Eyefi's cloud storage service, Eyefi created the Mobi Pro to make photo categorization, as well as access to all your photos on any device easier. Eyefi says its new device has the “quality of a digital camera with the convenience of a smartphone, and the power of the cloud” (Venture Beat).
