During the demo, Microsoft's Joe Belfiore plugged his phone into a monitor, and with a mouse and keyboard, started to use it like a laptop. The idea behind this, and what the audience was supposed to be pondering in their heads is, how cool it would be to have all your Windows devices stay in sync. Could we really just have one gadget for all of our needs? According to Wired, whether it's your VR glasses, a large monitor or TV for a presentation, or a small screen for a video, Microsoft wants this to be the way of the future. It is in fact possible because, remember, Windows 10 applications were made universal.
Showing of Continuum doesn't mean it's going to be ready for Windows 10 users just yet. Microsoft is just getting the preview release of 10 out today. However, Belfiore did point out that they plan to run the feature on future devices (which would work as a great selling point), apparently hinting at Lumia smartphones.
