It's been a while since Lenovo announced its Flex 3 laptops with 11, 14, and 15-inch displays, but now, since they're officially available for purchase, it's time to check out their specs. As the name suggests, these laptops are bendable. But instead of having a measly 270 degree hinge like the last Lenovo line of notebooks, these do more than just go into kickstand mode. Like many convertible notebook competitors out there, and even more upscale Lenovo Yoga models for that matter, the Flex 3 laptop sports a 360 degree hinge, essentially transforming it into a tablet. Even better, these are nice and affordable.

The 11.6-inch, 3 pound model is fit with a 1366 x 768 display, an Intel Celeron N2840 Bay Trail processor, comes with 4GB of RAM, and 64 GB of storage for just $399. Both the 14 and 15-inchers start out with a 1920 x 1080 HD display, with the option of some more power using an Intel Core i5 or i7 processor. The 14-inch Flex 3 weighs 4.2 pounds, offers an Nvidia graphics card, 8GB of RAM, and a 1TB hard drive for $549. Finally, for just $30 more at a price of $579, the 15.6-inch model weighs 5.07 pounds (nearly double the weight of the 11.6-inch model), comes with 8GB of RAM, and a 1TB hard drive as well (Gotta Be Mobile).

All three models have this 4-in-1 personality, but they cannot fold into ultra-thin tablets like other convertibles can because their keyboards don't snap out. Still, there's benefit to being able to hinge your laptop into a propped up position for easier access, especially when using the touchscreen. Besides the exciting hinge, don't forget about the connectivity options. There's Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, various assortments of USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports, HDMI, speakers, a good front-facing camera, and a media card reader. Obviously, none of these specifications are new to the world of notebooks, but they sure are great things to have in a convertible so cheap. Too bad these missed back-to-school season (Lenovo actually announced its trio of devices back in January). We'll see how it does after its May launch this week. It's a competitive world out there.
