Get Multiple Screens On-The-Go with Slidenjoy

SlidenjoyMultiScreenAs anyone who has ever made the jump to dual monitors can tell you, once you’ve experienced the joy of multiple displays it is very, very hard to make the move back to a lonely, lowly single screen. For those of us who primarily use this feature at home or at the office, this is generally a non-issue – once you set up a multi-monitor system, it’s there to use at your leisure. But what if you want to take your dual display show on the road? While multiple monitors massively enhance your home or work computer, they are not travel-friendly to say the least. A company in Belgium wants to change that though, and just took to Kickstarter to raise funds for the Slidenjoy, a portable, detachable multi-monitor maker for your laptop.

SlidenjoyMultiScreen1A quick visit to the Slidenjoy Kickstarter page quickly makes one thing abundantly clear – people want it. With 30 days still remaining in their campaign, the Slidenjoy is already two-thirds of the way to hitting their goal of $331,305. At that rate, it seems a certainty that whether you back it or not, this amazing little gadget is coming. After spending some time learning about what it accomplishes and how incredibly easy it is to use, this comes as no surprise to me. The Slidenjoy is compatible with both Mac and PC and easily connects to the back of your laptop’s display using magnets. When not in use, the additional display screens slide right back into their housing, adding one discreet inch of girth to your notebook. To double or even triple your available display screens, the Slidenjoy connects to your computer through a single USB port and additional screens slide easily out of their attached housing. Once the screens are pulled out, hinges allow them to be rotated 180 degrees, giving you a plethora of options to create your own portable panoramic environment.

SlidenjoyMultiScreen2The Slidenjoy will come with the option of purchasing either one or two additional screens, and both options will be available in 13-, 15- and 17-inch screen sizes. A single screen will cost $221, while a pair will set you back roughly $332. If you’re worried about how this display-enhancing “backpack” for your notebook is going to affect the aesthetics of your sleek new laptop, there are options for that as well. The Slidenjoy can be ordered in any of nine different colors of high quality plastic, or you can spring for one of the Premium finishes like light and dark wood or aluminum. If you want to go all out, there are even Limited Edition versions made from either carbon or full grain leather that are signed by each of the Slidenjoy’s three creators. The developers are so proud of the Slidenjoy’s success so far that they’ve already announced a number of extra features they’re working towards, including triple extension screens, touchscreens, integrated batteries and even Linux support and support for gamers.
