Installation and Removal Instructions
XPS 15-L501X (P11F001) DC Jack

Slide the latch over and lift the Battery out of the laptop.

Step 1

  • Slide the latch over and lift the Battery out of the laptop.

Loosen the screws.

Step 2

Loosen the screws.Remove the Access Door.
Remove the screw.

Step 3

Remove the screw.Slide the Optical Drive out of the laptop.Remove the screw.
Unplug the antenna cables.

Step 4

  • Unplug the antenna cables.
  • Remove the screw.
  • Remove the Wireless Card.
Unplug the antenna cables.Remove the screw.Remove the Wireless Card.
Unplug the bottom cables.

Step 5

  • Unplug the bottom cables.

Remove the screws under the battery.

Step 6

  • Remove the screws under the battery.
  • Remove the screws under the optical drive.
  • Remove the bottom screws.

Remove the bottom screws.

Step 7

  • Remove the bottom screws.
  • Release the latches to loosen the palmrest.

Turn the laptop over and open it up.

Step 8

  • Turn the laptop over and open it up.
  • Carefully separate the palmrest from the base.

Turn the palmrest over and unplug the cables.

Step 9

Turn the palmrest over and unplug the cables.Remove the Palmrest Touchpad.
Remove the screws.

Step 10

  • Remove the screws.
  • Slide the hard drive over & remove the Hard Drive.

Lift and turn the keyboard over.

Step 11

  • Lift and turn the keyboard over.
  • Unplug the keyboard cables.
  • Remove the Keyboard.

Loosen the antenna cables.

Step 12

  • Loosen the antenna cables.
  • Loosen the ground screw.
  • Unplug & loosen the display cable.

Remove the hinge screws.

Step 13

Remove the hinge screws.Remove the LCD Display Assembly.Remove the hinge screws.
Remove the screws.

Step 14

Remove the screws.Separate the base and the Palmrest Chassis.
Turn the palmrest chassis over.

Step 15

  • Turn the palmrest chassis over.
  • Unplug the cable.
  • Remove the screw.
  • Remove the DC Jack.
Turn the palmrest chassis over.Unplug the cable.Remove the screw.
