Dear HP, we’re always wondering what you’re doing. What will your next move be? Most of the time, in all honesty and full respect for you, where is your fire? For those of us wondering these same questions, at least we can give the computer giant a giant break because, as of late, HP has had great focus on improving its Stream notebook line; nothing too crazy, but perfect for those looking for something moderate and affordable. These models have been delicately designed into three iterations, and aim to expand HP’s Windows-based stream PC experience.

Born two years ago, and introduced as budget-friendly, cloud-friendly notebooks, the Stream line now includes three models, the Stream 11-inch laptop, Stream 11-inch x360 laptop, and Stream 14-inch laptop. Featuring basic beauty (with a new slab of paint), an extra large battery, and sleek appearance, these devices are extremely affordable, between just $199 and $250. The 2016 revamp also features the original HP Stream 14 laptop replacing the Stream 13 laptop, now sporting a 14-inch display.

So who cares about an extra inch on the display? Besides those who prefer a decent-sized screen to multitask on, the Stream 14 strives to represent HP’s fight to improve and update a line already loved by its customers. The three different iterations (the two notebooks and one 360-degree swivel version), are all trying to find their perfect human counterpart. Importantly, under the hood is where things are most improved, and were not just speaking of the popular bump from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. Now with a new Intel Celeron N3060 processor, 4GB of DDR3L SDRAM, 32GB of eMMC flash storage, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, and 100GB of OneDrive Cloud storage, all updates are healthy and don’t seem to impede on price.

While the display features a 1366 x 768 pixel count, the new HP laptops will be offered in white, blue, and purple options. Sure the specs are moderate and nothing unbeatable by any means, but the laptop’s new 1 hour and 45 minute battery is perfect for the on-the-go, cloud-reliant laptop user. HP gave focus to the cloud experience, also backed by countless cloud-based apps and online photo sharing, something only a more than decent internet connection will be able to support best.

Rest assured all three laptop options feature the same exact hardware, so it’s a simple matter of preference over anything on which model you desire. The Stream 11 models start at just $199, while the Stream 14 starts at just $219, and will be sold starting the 7th of September. With similar notebooks out there, also cloud-based- like the incredibly popular Chromebooks, HP’s Windows 10 Stream line of devices seem to provide standard quality, but with a selling point of having some of the cheapest price tags around.
