It’s difficult to tell right off the bat just how much “better” one laptop is than other. You get the main specs, like display size, the CPU model inside, the oh-so-thinness of the chassis; however it’s easy to identify the brand name of Lenovo as one of the more impressive makers of laptops, and ultrabooks. To review the Lenovo Yoga 710, just know it’s undoubtedly in competition with the others in its class, sporting a lightweight and thin magnesium/aluminum body, similar specs and that great Yoga hinge we know and love.

More specifically, the 710 line has expanded with an 11.6-inch version, plus a 14-inch model, which we will be sticking with today to learning about its configuration. These “bare essentials” include the power jack, SD card slot, and headphone jack on the left, and two USB 3.0 ports and a micro HDMI port on the right.

Power on the Yoga 710 ain’t bad at all, armed with an Intel Core i5-6200U CPU for performance, and Nvidia’s GeForce 940MX for graphics. This is all paired with 2GB of VRAM, 8GB of RAM, and a 256 SSD card. Sources report plenty of competence matching these specs- including multiple windows and video tabs multi-tasking without any noticeable lag.

Now those are the simple things you look for in a laptop, something with just the right amount of performance specs, plus a lovely display with a perfect size for video and multi-tasking. As mentioned, there’s also an 11-inch Yoga 710, a smaller device with a starting price of just $499. Either options are loaded with just the right amount of everything. For wireless, there’s an internal Broadcom adapter with 802.11ac band, plus integrated Bluetooth 4.1. It can last up to 8 hours of continued use between charges, which is great, just try to make a memo to adjust the brightness a bit along the way. Plus, the Lenovo Yoga 710 comes equipped with some nice software applications, such as CCSDK, Lenovo Companion 3.0, Lenovo Photo Master, Lenovo SHAREit, Lenovo OneKey Recovery, a trial version of McAfee LiveSafe, and a trial of Microsoft Office 365.
