LG is ready to impress, especially if you’re into photo editing, video editing, and gaming. The new LG 38UC99 is a step forward in the world of computer monitor technology. This is the biggest, baddest, and ultra-widest, boasting 38 inches of productivity. It’s said to have higher resolution, higher refresh rate, and more inputs than ever. Business folk who are serious multi-taskers like big monitors, so imagine their faces if one if these appeared on their desk!

The LG 28UC99 UltraWide Monitor, featuring a 38-inch 21:9 IPS Curved LED display, has razor-thin bezels, and some of the most amazing glow we’ve seen. This monitor has a 3,840 x 1,600 resolution panel, that’s four times crisper than basic HD, mind you! It isn’t ideal for media consumption, and besides its obvious appeal to want to game on it, it’s actually geared towards anyone doing any graphical, video, or editing work. The biggest point of this is to have the biggest amount of space in front of you, all in one monitor rather than multiples. People who are working on anything graphical, like designing a booklet or magazine, could seriously lay out countless pages across its surface, improving productivity.

There’s many port options, including two HDMI 2.0s, a built-in USB 3.0 hub, two USB Type-A connectors, and one USB Type-C connector; plus the single DisplayPort 1.2, which allows the full 75Hz video inputs (the other inputs and outputs allow for 60Hz). The USB-C port on this is of course for plugging in a laptop, and may transfer a full 4K video from the laptop to the display. The 10-watt monitor speakers allow for good listening, but isn’t going to blow you away. It contains Bluetooth for pass-through audio from the system, and of course pairing with any smartphones and other devices wirelessly.

Digital Trends describes “LG’s 38-inch UltraWide as the most immersive display you’ll see outside a VR headset”. Now that is a lot of credibility in one single sentence. Starting at $1,643 on Amazon, there’s pretty much nothing to point out as a downfall in the innovative LG 28UC99. Perhaps it’s contrast ratio is ‘with the times’ rather than ‘ahead of them’, but so what? It has also been noted that the warranty is shorter than some might care for, but many others won’t care at all. What this big monitor entails is a more than impressive resolution, but incredibly flattering and immersive curvature, and of course more workspace than you could ever ask for in a single unit. Some multi-taskers prefer separation between their screens, but for the rest, there’s nothing dull about LG’s impressive massiveness. If you want this monitor, just make sure you’ve got yourself a nice big desk to go along with it.
