Most of our orders are from repeat customers. Parts-People began as a small company 20 years ago in an extra bedroom of my house. I had saved a small sum of money to purchase some computer parts and began selling them on eBay. After a few months I realized that people needed a place to go for Dell parts so I began building our website. Since we are located in Austin, Texas, where Dell.com was founded, I was able to set up a solid supply line with Dell. From the start, we focused on customer satisfaction and selling quality parts. We have grown a lot since 2002 but still and always the customer will come first. You will find that we go above and beyond with every order and offer free resources and support before and after the sale.

I am biased when it comes to Chromebooks. I love them, and I think you should too (you being the general population). The reasons why you should love them is as follows: they are perfect companions for the simple computer user, meaning, if you rely mostly on the web for your needs, your needs will easily be met with a Chromebook. Obviously, if you are an editor, Windows addict, or computer gamer, you should look elsewhere. But if you’re like me, and live in a world where websites get you where you need to go, and the Chrome OS’s platform of docs, drive, and photos are just right, then good news, you and a Chromebook are compatible! Even better news, you aren’t as limited as you may think, as the Google system includes other helpful apps such as Pixlr Editor, Play Music, and even Google Sheets (compared to Exell).
Now, consider all the basic functionality of a Chromebook, and mix it with the educational environment. Schools have been considering Chromebooks as wonderful tools for education for a while now. They are easy to manage, very affordable (we all know what could happen to a thousand dollar laptop in the hands of a child, or adult for that matter), and just as secure as any laptop. Acer has announced the Chromebook 11 N7 (C731) with the intention of attracting schools with its new high durability.
Actually military grade now, the Chromebook 11 N7 can handle up to 132 pounds of pressure on top of its cover. It’s also less likely to break in general, due to its casing and hinges harnessing tremendous amounts of resistance when it comes to twisting and stress. Considering a few scenarios of students handling the device, such as them cramming the notebook into their backpack, it bouncing around violently, or a careless manipulation of its range of motion (although it does fold completely flat), the device should be safe in these conditions. Even a drop to the ground, of a good 48 inches or so (twice the height of the previous model), shouldn’t matter since this model comes with a corner-shield and rubber bumper keyboard.
But wait, there’s more! Don’t forget the other terrible things that laptops go through! Put a cup of coffee, or half-opened bottle of water near a computer, and you instantly put that bad boy in harm’s way. This isn’t a waterproof device, yet for the protection of spills the Chromebook 11 N7 contains spill resistance in its keyboard gutter system. This allows the drainage of up to 11 ounces of water away from the vital internal components. Even the keys contain some extra toughness, designed to keep kiddos from picking them off like chicklets.
Since the 2015 Acer Chromebook for schools proved to not be durable enough, Acer listened. Students can now learn with the Chromebook in a variety of environments. These improvements are aimed to hit all the areas of protection that a PC needs, not to mention reduce any downtime due to IT maintenance or repairs. Besides a compliance with the US Military Standard MIL-STD 810G, there’s more to know. The 11-inch device features a 1,366 x 768 display in both IPS touch (look for the C731I model) and non-touch options, and comes with 4GB of RAM. It’s ports include two USB 3.0’s, an HDMI socket, and an SD card reader. Finally, it promises up to 12 hours of battery life, and starts at just $230, on sale in the states starting this month.
