The 2016 Mobile World Congress brought upon a chance for Lenovo’s Miix 320 to share some limelight with the rest of the stars of the show. The 2-in-1 that promised 10 hours of battery life is back this year with a little more oomph, “oomph” meaning better specs while maintaining the great low price as before.

As an affordable convertible tablet/laptop hybrid, it’s really interesting to see something other than a Chromebook be an option. This is exactly what Lenovo is hoping the 10.1-inch, 2.25 pound Miix 320 laptop will provide to consumers. Unlike the Chromebook, Lenovo’s new device comes installed with Windows 10, and is not limited to a Chrome operating system. The main attribute that makes it so similar to the Chromebook, however, happens to be its simplicity. However, there’s quite the lovely change to be accounted for- Lenovo has added a 1920 x 1200 Full HD display, of course an improvement over the 1280 x 800 pixel count on its predecessor. Another improvement is the addition of a precision touchpad to the device’s docking keyboard. Yep, this Lenovo portable has become a detachable tablet.

Yes, that nice High-Def display with a keyboard dock now accompanies more goodies, including more RAM and storage space than before. You can get up to 4GB of DDR3 RAM, as well as 128GB of storage, all while running a lovely Intel Atom x5 processor and Intel HD graphics card. Finally, the tablet comes with a USB Type-C port, and an HDMI port on the main body, and two USB 2.0 ports on the keyboard dock. Of course, built-in Wi-Fi is nothing to gloat about, but the Miix 320 does offer optional LTE connectivity in addition.

Arriving soon, Spring of 2017, for a starting price of just $199, the updated version of the Miix 320 should be a suitable arrangement between quality and addition of a keyboard dock. Beyond the spec changes mentioned, there is nothing seriously altering the Miix detachable laptop, which intends to continue its ultra-portable, ultra long-lasting self.
