In this Dell laptop tutorial we are going to show you how to install and replace the Bottom Base on your Vostro 2521 laptop.   • 1 x small phillips head screwdriver
  • 1 x small plastic scribe

Installation and Removal Instructions
Vostro 2521 Bottom Base

Slide the latches over to unlock the battery.

Step 1

  • Slide the latches over to unlock the battery.

Remove the Battery.

Step 2

Remove the optical drive screw.

Step 3

  • Remove the optical drive screw.
  • Slide the optical drive out.
  • Remove the DVD Optical Drive.

Remove the screw.

Step 4

Remove the screw.Remove the Access Door.Remove the screw.
Unplug the antenna cables.

Step 5

  • Unplug the antenna cables.
  • Remove the screw.

Remove the Wireless WLAN Card.

Step 6

Remove the screw.

Step 7

  • Remove the screw.
  • Using the tab, slide the hard drive to the left.
  • Remove the Hard Drive.

Remove the bottom keyboard screws.

Step 8

  • Remove the bottom keyboard screws.
  • Remove the bottom palmrest screws.
  • Turn the laptop over & open it up.

Press the keyboard tabs in to loosen the keyboard.

Step 9

  • Press the keyboard tabs in to loosen the keyboard.

Unplug the keyboard cable.

Step 10

  • Unplug the keyboard cable.
  • Remove the Keyboard.

Unplug the palmrest cables.

Step 11

  • Unplug the palmrest cables.
  • Remove the palmrest screws.

Carefully unsnap and remove the Palmrest Touchpad.

Unplug & loosen the LCD cable.

Step 13

  • Unplug & loosen the LCD cable.

Unplug & loosen the DC Jack.

Step 14

Unplug & loosen the DC Jack.Unplug & loosen the DC Jack.
Unplug the USB cable.

Step 15

  • Unplug the USB cable.
  • Unplug the speaker cable.
  • Remove the motherboard screw.
  • Remove the Motherboard.
Unplug the USB cable.Unplug the speaker cable.Remove the motherboard screw.Remove the Motherboard.
Remove the Speakers.

Step 16

Remove the Speakers.Remove the Speakers.
Unplug the cable.

Step 17

Unplug the cable.Remove the screw.Remove the USB Circuit Board.
Loosen the antenna cables.

Step 18

  • Loosen the antenna cables.
  • Remove the left & right hinge screws.
  • Remove the Display Assembly.

The remaining piece is the Bottom Base.
