Installation and Removal Instructions
Precision 7670 Power Button w/ Circuit Board
Step 1
- Before you begin: If you need help at any point, you can always contact Parts-People Laptop Repair Department for help with your diagnosis or repair.
Step 2
- Use a Phillips Screwdriver to loosen the Bottom Base Cover screws (6 x captive screws).
- Use a Plastic Scribe to pry apart and remove the Bottom Base Cover.
Step 3
- Disconnect the Battery.
Step 4
- Disconnect the cooling fan cables.
- Unscrew and remove the Heatsink Cooling Fan Assembly (4 x M2 x 5mm) (4 x captive screws).
Step 5
- Unclip the locking tab to unlatch and disconnect the power button cable.
Step 6
- Unscrew and remove the power button circuit board (1 x 2mm x 2.5mm)..
Step 8
- ***BEFORE REINSTALLING YOUR HEATSINK: Completely wipe off the old thermal paste from the processor.
Step 9
- Then completely wipe away any old thermal paste from the heatsink.
Step 10
- Apply a small amount of new thermal paste (slightly smaller than the size of a pea) on the processor.
- ***THE REMAINING REINSTALLATION PROCESS IS AS SIMPLE AS FOLLOWING THE DISASSEMBLY STEPS IN REVERSE.
