In this Dell laptop tutorial we are going to show you how to install and replace the Motherboard on your Latitude 9440 2-In-1 laptop. Step 1

Unscrew and remove the Bottom Base Cover (6 x captive screws).

Step 2

Unscrew and remove the Bottom Base Cover (6 x captive screws).

Step 3

Disconnect the battery cable.

Unscrew and remove the WiFi bracket (1 x captive screw).

Step 4

Unscrew and remove the WiFi bracket (1 x captive screw).
Disconnect and unroute the antenna cables.

Unscrew and remove the SSD shield (1 x 1.2mm x 1.5mm).

Step 5

Unscrew and remove the SSD shield (1 x 1.2mm x 1.5mm).
Slide out the SSD.

Unscrew and remove the Heatsink (3 x captive screws).

Step 6

Unscrew and remove the Heatsink (3 x captive screws).

Step 7

Unscrew and remove the Battery (6 x M2 x 3mm).

Unscrew the left and right Cooling Fans (4 x 1.6mm x 3mm).

Step 8

Unscrew the left and right Cooling Fans (4 x 1.6mm x 3mm).
Peel away the tape to expose the fan connectors.

Step 9

Unclip the fan connector locking tabs.
Remove the Cooling Fans.

Unscrew and remove the display cable/USB-C bracket (2 x 1.6mm x 3mm).

Step 10

Unscrew and remove the display cable/USB-C bracket (2 x 1.6mm x 3mm).

Unclip the locking tabs and disconnect the LCD cables.

Step 11

Unclip the locking tabs and disconnect the LCD cables.

Disconnect the left and right speaker cables.

Step 12

Disconnect the left and right speaker cables.

Unclip the locking tab and disconnect the power button cable.

Step 13

Unclip the locking tab and disconnect the power button cable.
Unclip the locking tab and disconnect the touchpad cable.

Unscrew and remove the Motherboard (6 x 1.6mm x 2mm) (4 x 1.6mm x 3mm).

Step 14

Unscrew and remove the Motherboard (6 x 1.6mm x 2mm) (4 x 1.6mm x 3mm).

***FOLLOW THE ORIGINAL STEPS IN REVERSE TO REASSEMBLE YOUR LAPTOP.

Step 15

NOTE: Before replacing your heatsink it's important to wipe away any old thermal paste from the heatsink and CPU.
Then apply a small amount of new thermal paste to the CPU before reinstalling your heatsink.
