Unscrew the Bottom Base Cover (8 x captive screws).

Step 2

Unscrew the Bottom Base Cover (8 x captive screws).
Use a plastic scribe to pry apart and remove the Bottom Base Cover.

Step 3

Disconnect the Battery cable.

Remove the Heatsink/Cooling Fan screws (6 x

Remove the Heatsink/Cooling Fan screws (6 x M2 x 3mm).
Disconnect and remove the Heatsink/Cooling Fan.

BEFORE REPLACING THE HEATSINK: Wipe away any old thermal paste.

NOTE: For maximum cooling of the processor, do not touch the heat transfer areas on the heatsink/CPU. The oils in your skin can reduce the heat transfer capability of the thermal grease.
