In this Dell laptop tutorial we are going to show you how to install and replace the Motherboard on your Inspiron 16 Plus 7630 laptop. Step 2

Unscrew the Bottom Base Cover (7 x M2 x 3mm) (2 x captive screws).
Use a plastic scribe to pry apart and remove the Bottom Base Cover.

Step 3

Disconnect the Battery.

Unscrew and remove the WiFi bracket (1 x M2 x 3mm).

Step 4

Unscrew and remove the WiFi bracket (1 x M2 x 3mm).
Disconnect the antenna cables.
Slide out the WiFi Card.

TO REMOVE THE 2230 SSD: Unscrew and remove the SSD and heat shield (1 x

Unscrew the SSD and separate it from the securing bracket (1 x M2 x 2mm).

Unclip the locking tab and disconnect the I/O board cable.

Step 7

Unclip the locking tab and disconnect the I/O board cable.

Unclip the locking tab and disconnect the touchpad cable.

Step 8

Unclip the locking tab and disconnect the touchpad cable.

Unclip the locking tab and disconnect the (1st) keyboard cable.

Step 9

Unclip the locking tab and disconnect the (1st) keyboard cable.

Unclip the locking tab and disconnect the (2nd) keyboard cable.

Step 10

Unclip the locking tab and disconnect the (2nd) keyboard cable.

Step 11

Disconnect the speaker cables.

Step 12

Disconnect the DC Jack.

Unclip the locking tab and disconnect the LCD cable.

Step 13

Unclip the locking tab and disconnect the LCD cable.

Step 14

Disconnect the right cooling fan.
Unscrew and remove the Right Cooling Fan (2 x M2 x 5mm).

Step 15

Disconnect the left cooling fan.
Unscrew and remove the Left Cooling Fan (2 x M2 x 5mm).

TO REMOVE THE HEATSINK FOR MODELS W/ INTEL GRAPHICS: Unscrew and remove the Heatsink (4 x captive screws).

Step 16

TO REMOVE THE HEATSINK FOR MODELS W/ INTEL GRAPHICS: Unscrew and remove the Heatsink (4 x captive screws).

TO REMOVE THE HEATSINK FOR MODELS W/ NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3050/4050 GRAPHICS: Unscrew and remove the Heatsink (7 x captive screws).

Unscrew and remove the Motherboard (2 x M2 x 4mm) (3 x M2 x 3mm).

BEFORE REPLACING HEATSINK: Wipe away any old thermal paste from the CPU and heatsink.

***NOTE: Make sure to not touch the heat transfer areas on the heatsink and processors. The oils on your skin can reduce the heat transfer capability of the thermal paste.
