Installation and Removal Instructions
Inspiron 16 Plus 7630 Palmrest Keyboard Assembly
Step 1
- Before you begin: If you need help at any point, you can always contact Parts-People Repair Department for help with your diagnosis or repair.
Step 2
- Unscrew the Bottom Base Cover (7 x M2 x 3mm) (2 x captive screws).
- Use a plastic scribe to pry apart and remove the Bottom Base Cover.

Step 3
- Disconnect the Battery.
Step 4

Step 5
- Unclip the locking tab and disconnect the I/O board cable.
 
|
Step 6
- Unclip the locking tab and disconnect the touchpad cable.
 
|
Step 7
- Unclip the locking tab and disconnect the (1st) keyboard cable.
 
|
Step 8
- Unclip the locking tab and disconnect the (2nd) keyboard cable.
 
|
Step 9
- Disconnect the speaker cables.
|
Step 11
- Disconnect the DC Jack.
Step 12
- Unclip the locking tab and disconnect the LCD cable.
 
|
Step 13
- Unscrew the left and right LCD hinges (4 x 2.5mm x 5.5mm).
- Open the LCD Display Assembly and separate it from the Palmrest.

Step 14
- Remove the DC Jack.
Step 17
- Unclip the locking tab and disconnect the (1st) I/O board cable.

Step 18
- Unclip the locking tab and disconnect the (2nd) I/O board cable.
 
|
Step 19
- Unclip the locking tab and disconnect the (3rd) I/O board cable.
 
|
Step 24
- Unscrew and remove the power button board (2 x M2 x 3mm).
- Then unscrew and remove the Power Button (1 x M2 x 2mm wafer).

Step 25
- The remaining piece is the Palmrest Keyboard Assembly.
- ***FOLLOW THE ORIGINAL STEPS IN REVERSE TO REASSEMBLE YOUR LAPTOP.
