Installation and Removal Instructions

Before you begin: If you need help at any point, you can always contact Parts-People Motherboard Repair Department for help with your diagnosis or repair.

Step 1

TOOLS FOR THIS REPAIR: Phillips #0 Screwdriver and a

Disconnect the Battery Cable.

Step 3

Unscrew and remove the antenna bracket (1 x M2 x 3mm).

Step 4

Unscrew and remove the antenna bracket (1 x M2 x 3mm).Disconnect the antenna cables.Slide out the Wireless/WiFi Card.
Disconnect the LCD cable.

Step 5

  • Disconnect the LCD cable.

Unscrew and remove the SSD bracket (2 x M2 x 3mm).

Step 6

Unscrew and remove the SSD bracket (2 x M2 x 3mm).Slide out the M.2 NVMe SSD.Unscrew and remove the SSD bracket (2 x M2 x 3mm).
Unsnap the locking tab and then disconnect the hard drive cable.

Step 7

  • Unsnap the locking tab and then disconnect the hard drive cable.
  • Unscrew and remove the hard drive and caddy (3 x M2 x 3mm).

Disconnect the speakers.

Unscrew the right cooling fan (2 x M2 x 3mm).

Unscrew the left cooling fan (2 x M2 x 3mm).

Unscrew the left cooling fan (2 x M2 x 3mm).Disconnect and remove the Left Cooling Fan.
Unsnap the locking tab and disconnect the I/O board cable.

Step 13

  • Unsnap the locking tab and disconnect the I/O board cable.

Unsnap the locking tab and disconnect the keyboard cables.

Step 14

  • Unsnap the locking tab and disconnect the keyboard cables.

Unscrew and remove the Heatsink (8 X captive screws).

BEFORE REPLACING HEATSINK: Wipe away any old thermal paste from the CPU and heatsink.

Step 18

  • BEFORE REPLACING HEATSINK: Wipe away any old thermal paste from the CPU and heatsink.
  • ***NOTE: Make sure to not touch the heat transfer areas on the heatsink and processors. The oils on your skin can reduce the heat transfer capability of the thermal paste.

Apply a small amount of new thermal paste to the processors.
