TOOLS FOR THIS REPAIR: Phillips #0 Screwdriver and a

TOOLS FOR THIS REPAIR: Phillips #0 Screwdriver and a Plastic Scribe.
Unscrew the bottom base cover (6 x M2 x 5mm) (4 X captive screws).
Pry apart and remove the Bottom Base.

Step 3

Disconnect the Battery Cable.

Step 4

Unscrew and remove the Battery (4 x M2 x 4mm).

Unscrew and remove the antenna bracket (1 x M2 x 4mm).

Step 5

Unscrew and remove the antenna bracket (1 x M2 x 4mm).
Disconnect the antenna cables.
Slide out the WiFi Card.

Unscrew and remove the thermal bracket from SSD slot 1 (2 x M2 x 4mm).

Step 6

Unscrew and remove the thermal bracket from SSD slot 1 (2 x M2 x 4mm).
Slide out the M.2 NVMe SSD.

Unscrew and remove the thermal bracket from SSD slot 2 (2 x M2 x 4mm).

Step 7

Unscrew and remove the thermal bracket from SSD slot 2 (2 x M2 x 4mm).
Slide out the M.2 NVMe SSD.

Unscrew and remove the Rear Cover (4 x M2 x 5mm) (2 x

Unscrew and remove the Rear Cover (4 x M2 x 5mm) (2 x M2 x 4mm).

Peel back the adhesive covering the LCD cable connector.

Step 9

Peel back the adhesive covering the LCD cable connector.
Unclip the locking tab and then disconnect the LCD cables.

Step 10

Disconnect the DC Jack cable.
Unscrew and remove the DC Jack (2 x M2 x 5mm).

Unclip the locking tab and then disconnect the keyboard cable.

Step 11

Unclip the locking tab and then disconnect the keyboard cable.

If you have a single-color keyboard, unclip the locking tab and then disconnect the backlight cable.

Step 12

If you have a single-color keyboard, unclip the locking tab and then disconnect the backlight cable.
OR, if you have a four-color keyboard, unclip the locking tab and then disconnect the keyboard controller cable.

Unclip the locking tab and then disconnect the touchpad cable.

Step 13

Unclip the locking tab and then disconnect the touchpad cable.

Unscrew and remove the type-C USB bracket (2 x M2 x 5mm).

Step 14

Unscrew and remove the type-C USB bracket (2 x M2 x 5mm).

Step 15

Disconnect the speaker cable.

Step 16

Disconnect the heatsink fan cables.

Step 17

Unscrew and remove the Motherboard (5 x M2 x 5mm) (2 x M2 x 3mm) (1 x M2 x 4mm).

Unscrew and remove the Heatsink Fan Assembly (7 X captive screws).

Step 18

Unscrew and remove the Heatsink Fan Assembly (7 X captive screws).

BEFORE REPLACING HEATSINK: Wipe away any old thermal paste from the CPU and heatsink.

BEFORE REPLACING HEATSINK: Wipe away any old thermal paste from the CPU and heatsink.
***NOTE: Make sure to not touch the heat transfer areas on the heatsink and processors. The oils on your skin can reduce the heat transfer capability of the thermal paste.
