Dell’s Venue 11 Pro Tablet Launches in the US Today

Tablet enthusiasts looking to nab a Venue 11 Pro will have a few configuration options. The entry-level tablet, which retails at around $500, features a Bay Trail-based quad-core Intel Atom processor, 2GB of RAM, 64GB of storage and an 8-inch IPS display. For users who like their tablets with a little more processing muscle, Dell also offers models with Y-series Core i3 and i5 chips. The Core i3 processor model comes with 4GB of RAM, 12GB of storage and an $800 price tag.

It appears as if Apple will soon need to make some changes to the marketing campaign for their MacBook Pro. Formerly touted as the “world’s highest resolution notebook” (with a whopping 2880x1800 pixel display), according to Dell that statement will hold true for less than two more weeks.

Shareholders Approve the Nearly $25 Billion Dell Buyout Proposal

The total buyout cost to Michael Dell and Silver Lake Partners totals $24.9 billion, and includes payments to shareholders of $13.75 per share plus a “payment of a special cash dividend of $0.13 per share to stockholders of record as of a date prior to the effective time of the merger”. This leaves shareholders sitting rather pretty, with a total consideration of $13.88 per share. Additionally, the agreement “guarantees the regular quarterly dividend of $0.08 per share for the fiscal third quarter would be paid to holders of record as of a date prior to closing”.
